Marbel is a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience
providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, families and adults from
diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds with various presenting
problems such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual
abuse, grief and loss, anger, conduct/behavioral problems and relationship
conflicts. She is a Qualified Supervisor for Clinical Social Work Interns.
She received a Master of Social Work degree in 1993 from Rutgers University
and completed the Advanced Certificate Program in Clinical Social Work at
New York University in 2001. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Marbel
began her social work career in 1989 with The Division of Youth and Family
Services (DYFS) in Paterson, New Jersey where she was a case manager
investigating child abuse and neglect cases. It was there where she first
became interested in working with victims of abuse and has specialized in
treating victims of sexual abuse and trauma. In 1993 she began to provide
counseling in a mental health clinic and has been providing counseling in
private practice since 1999. In 2003, she moved with her family to Central
Florida where she relocated her private practice. In the spring of 2011
Marbel established a group practice, Mid Florida Counseling, LLC with the
goal of providing quality therapeutic services to members of the
community.
Marbel incorporates various theoretical
approaches of treatment including cognitive behavioral, family systems and
psychodynamic methodologies and techniques. With compassion and
understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their
strengths and gain insight on the core issues that are impeding their lives.
Along with her theoretical approach, she utilizes play therapy in working
with children. Marbel has had extensive training and experience in
working with victims of sexual abuse, trauma and crisis situations.
She
has been conducting adoption home studies and post placement visits for the
past eleven years. She is also a Critical Incident Stress Management
Specialist, providing on-site debriefing services to employees experiencing
grief, loss and trauma, as well as providing management consultations to
area managers, supervisors and HR managers in moments of crisis.
Pam R. Warlaumont, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Pam
Warlaumont received a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work
degree from the University of Central Florida in 1997 and has extensive
experience working with children, adolescents, adults and groups. Her
philosophy is influenced by a combination of knowledge and experience,
professional ethics and a genuine concern for her clients.
Pam
takes pride in helping to guide clients in taking the road to personal
growth and self-actualization. Ms. Warlaumont has extensive experience
working with sexual abuse, trauma and PTSD. Her other areas of
expertise are relationship issues, communication, family discord, parenting,
anger management, behavior problems, grief and loss, stress, depression,
anxiety, low self-esteem and self-image.
Wendy Long, MSW, RCSWI
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
Wendy Long received a Master of Social work in 2019 from the University of Central Florida. She obtained status as a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern and is currently working towards acquiring her LCSW credentials and is supervised by Marbel Freay Locarno, MSW, LCSW. Her experience and strengths are in working with teens and adults from diverse backgrounds struggling with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges and life transitions. Wendy’s therapeutic approach is client-centered, strengths-based and solution-focused with the goal of empowering her clients to thrive while living as their “best selves.”
